CNC Mill/Turn Setter Operator – Aerospace Engineering

Shifts: Day & Night Shift Opportunities Available
Location: Poole, Dorset
Rate: £17.00 – £18.00 per hour
Night Shift Premium: x1.3 Enhancement

An established and growing aerospace engineering manufacturer in Poole is looking for an experienced CNC Mill/Turn Setter Operator to join its skilled machining team. Opportunities are available on both day and night shifts, with the night shift role being an immediate priority.

This position is ideal for a fully skilled machinist with experience operating CNC mill/turn lathes using FANUC controls within a precision engineering environment.

The Role

As a CNC Mill/Turn Setter Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting and operating CNC mill/turn machines using FANUC controls
  • Producing precision-engineered aerospace components to tight tolerances
  • Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications
  • Carrying out in-process inspection and self-inspection of components
  • Ensuring all work meets SPC and quality standards
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment in line with 5S/5C principles
  • Working independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and consistency

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment
  • Strong experience using FANUC control systems
  • Previous experience within the aerospace sector
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • A proactive and reliable approach to work

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience with Nakamura machines
  • Experience using bar feed systems

Training can be provided for the right candidate where required.
