We're recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join a busy and well-established builders merchant and distribution operation based in the Leatherhead area.
This is a permanent opportunity offering stable, long-term work with a professional operation supplying materials to commercial sites, builders, merchants and residential customers across the South East.
The role would suit a reliable driver with strong customer service skills and previous experience operating HIAB equipment safely and efficiently.
The Role
You will be responsible for the safe delivery of building materials and products to customer sites using a Class 2 HIAB vehicle.Duties include:
- Operating a Class 2 HIAB vehicle across scheduled delivery routes
- Delivering building materials to commercial and residential sites
- Operating HIAB crane equipment safely and efficiently
- Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment checks
- Ensuring loads are secured correctly before transport
- Completing delivery paperwork and PODs accurately
- Maintaining strong communication with transport and yard teams
- Providing professional customer service at delivery locations
- Adhering to all transport legislation and health & safety procedures
This role involves regular interaction with customers and site staff, so professionalism and safety awareness are essential.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Full-time permanent role
- Early morning starts typical within the industry
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Valid CPC Qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Valid HIAB Licence / Certification
- Previous HIAB delivery experience preferred
- Good understanding of safe loading and lifting operations
- Reliable, professional and customer-focused attitude
