Working pattern: 5 days on site
Salary: £60,000-£80,000 depending on experience



Role Overview

A well-established, people-focused business is looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to join its finance team.

This role would suit an adaptable finance professional who enjoys being close to the business, working within a smaller team and getting involved across a broad range of responsibilities. Personality and team fit will be just as important as technical ability.



Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting
  • Support year-end accounts and audit processes
  • Maintain strong financial controls and processes
  • Partner with operational teams and senior stakeholders
  • Provide commercial insight around performance, margins and costs
  • Support process improvements across finance
  • Manage and support the wider finance team where required
  • Get involved in wider business activity outside of core finance when needed


Candidate Profile

  • Qualified accountant ideally, though strong QBE profiles may be considered
  • Previous Financial Controller / Finance Manager experience
  • Hands-on, adaptable and commercially aware
  • Comfortable working in a smaller, close-knit team
  • SME or mid-sized business background preferred
  • Product, logistics, distribution, or retail backgrounds would be a preference
  • Inventory, costing or margin experience useful
  • Strong personality and communication skills
